Private Session —
1:11 Session with the Congruence Herd
In a 1:11 session with the Congruence Herd, we begin by reconnecting with the natural intelligence of your body. Together—with the presence of all eleven herd members, past and present—we create space to gently explore and track sensations, helping you build a relationship with your nervous system. This isn’t about forcing change; it’s about inviting what’s already within you to come forward. Healing happens in its own time, in the safety of deep listening and relational presence.
Rooted in Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, and nature-based practices, this work supports you in rediscovering the body’s rhythms, building resilience, and processing trauma with gentleness. The first step is always resourcing—establishing a foundation that supports you before we explore deeper layers. This approach ensures your nervous system feels safe, allowing it to release stored survival responses gradually and in alignment with your needs.
The horses are active participants, showing up as they choose, bringing their own energy and presence into the space. They invite you to check in with your own state, offering an opportunity to sense what is arising within you. I act as a bridge between you and the herd—translating their messages, holding space for what arises, and guiding the experience as they present. Together, we move with their energy, allowing the session to unfold organically in a way that supports your nervous system and deepens your connection to self.
While the herd and I provide guidance, your body sets the pace. We honor the readiness of your system, creating a space where transformation unfolds organically, safely, and with the support needed for lasting integration.
In-person sessions with the Congruence Herd are 90 minutes in duration and offered on a sliding scale of $125–$250. A limited number of reduced-rate spaces are available each month—please inquire if needed.
If you feel called to explore this work, I invite you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation or reach out by email to learn more and sense whether this is the right fit.
“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.” — Albert Einstein
Polyvagal Theory and Somatic Experiencing (SE) form a powerful synergy, bridging ancient wisdom with modern trauma science. Polyvagal Theory maps how our nervous system shifts between states of safety, alertness, and collapse as a protective mechanism. Somatic Experiencing harnesses the body's innate intelligence, guiding us to track physical sensations and release stored trauma. Together, they offer a path back to balance, restoring the body's natural rhythms and fostering a deep sense of safety and engagement with life.
Building on this foundation, the integration of energy work, nature-based practices, and the presence of the Congruence Herd deepens the journey. Energy work attunes us to the subtle currents within and around us, enhancing the body's natural healing responses. Nature serves as a stabilizing force—through the grounding touch of the earth, the warmth of the sun, and the movement of fresh air—drawing us into the present moment. Horses, with their remarkable sensitivity to human energy and emotions, invite us to notice our internal state, offering an opportunity for greater self-awareness and coherence. Their presence encourages a profound experience of embodiment, trust, and connection. Together, these elements create a transformative space where the nervous system can settle, resilience can emerge, and a deeper sense of harmony with oneself and the world becomes possible.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only work with people with TBI?
No. While I specialize in supporting those recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) through modalities like Somatic Experiencing®, Polyvagal Theory, and mindfulness, I also work with individuals navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or those simply seeking a deeper connection to themselves and their nervous system. This work meets you where you are—whether you’re healing, growing, or remembering what safety feels like in your body.
How many sessions are recommended?
That depends on your goals and what your system is ready for. Some people benefit from just a few sessions, while others choose to return regularly over time. We move at the pace that feels right for you.
How long does a session last?
In-person sessions with the herd are 90 minutes in length, allowing spaciousness for settling, co-regulation, and integration. Virtual sessions typically last 60 minutes.
Do I need experience with horses?
Not at all. No prior horse experience is necessary. Your comfort and pacing are central to the process. Any interaction with the herd is guided and happens in a way that respects both you and the horses.
What if I’m afraid of horses?
Fear is a natural and often intelligent response. Many people come with some level of fear, and we always begin outside the corral. That fear itself can become a meaningful doorway into the work. We never move beyond what your system is ready for.
Do I get to choose the horse I work with?
You’ll be invited to sense into the herd and notice any particular connection, and you may be guided to make an energetic ask. But in deep respect for their autonomy, it’s the horses who ultimately choose whether or how they engage. Even when not physically close, they’re always participating in subtle ways.
Do we ever ride the horses?
No. Out of respect for the herd’s healing journeys and agency, all sessions take place on the ground. The focus is on relational presence, not performance or control.
Are private sessions safe?
Yes. Sessions are held in a safe, contained environment. I’ve designed this space to support regulation—for you and the herd—and I’m present throughout to guide and ensure safety.
What should I wear or bring to a session?
Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes appropriate for walking outdoors. A hat, sunscreen, and water are also recommended, especially in warmer weather.
