Private Session without Horses —
Somatic Experiencing® Private Sessions
In one-on-one Somatic Experiencing sessions, we slow down enough to notice what your body already knows. This is a space to track subtle shifts, release long-held patterns, and restore regulation at a nervous system level. You don’t need to relive trauma or explain everything. Instead, we follow your body’s cues—sensations, images, breath—to gently unwind survival responses and make room for more ease.
These sessions are especially helpful if you’ve experienced trauma, chronic stress, or a traumatic brain injury (TBI). After overwhelming experiences—physical or emotional—the nervous system can become stuck in protective patterns like hypervigilance, shutdown, or emotional flooding. For those recovering from concussion or TBI, SE provides a gentle, body-based way to rebuild trust in the system—without overstimulation.
You may also benefit if you’re navigating transitions, burnout, chronic pain, or simply feel disconnected from yourself. Sessions are collaborative, attuned to your pace, and grounded in presence. Whether you’re rebuilding after a life-altering injury or longing to feel more like yourself, this work supports deep and lasting nervous system healing.
Our one on one sessions are available in person or virtual. They are 60 minutes in duration and offered on a sliding scale of $90–$125.
If you feel called to explore this work, I invite you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation or reach out by email to learn more and sense whether this is the right fit.
Your Nervous System: The Foundation for Healing After Trauma or TBI
Your nervous system is the foundation of how you experience life—how you respond to stress, connect with others, process emotion, and feel safe in your body. When you’ve lived through trauma or a traumatic brain injury (TBI), your system may get stuck in patterns meant to protect you: hypervigilance, numbness, overwhelm, shutdown.
These patterns are not flaws—they are survival responses. But over time, they can make it difficult to rest, connect, or feel like yourself.
Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based approach that helps gently unwind these survival patterns. Rather than diving into stories or reliving the past, SE supports you in tuning in to what’s happening in the present—following the body’s subtle cues to restore regulation, vitality, and safety from within.
For those navigating TBI recovery, this work offers a uniquely supportive path: slow, attuned, and paced to meet your system where it is. Whether you’re dealing with cognitive fatigue, emotional reactivity, anxiety, or a sense of disconnection, SE invites your nervous system to find a new rhythm—one rooted in presence, not protection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only work with people with TBI?
No. While I specialize in supporting those recovering from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) through modalities like Somatic Experiencing®, Polyvagal Theory, and mindfulness, I also work with individuals navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or those simply seeking a deeper connection to themselves and their nervous system. This work meets you where you are—whether you’re healing, growing, or remembering what safety feels like in your body.
What is Somatic Experiencing?
A body-based approach to healing trauma and stress. It helps release stuck survival energy like fight, flight, or freeze—without needing to relive or retell your trauma.
How is this different from talk therapy?
SE focuses on the body, not just thoughts or stories. We follow your present-moment sensations, breath, and impulses to restore regulation from the inside out.
What does SE help with?
Somatic Experiencing supports a wide range of concerns. It can be especially helpful for those navigating trauma—whether developmental, acute, or complex—as well as people recovering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) or concussion. Many clients come seeking support for anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, chronic fatigue, or sleep difficulties. Others arrive with chronic tension, medical trauma, or a persistent feeling of being stuck or disconnected from life. Whether your challenges are recent or longstanding, SE offers a gentle and effective path toward regulation and reconnection.
How does SE help Concussion or Traumatic Brain Injury?
After a traumatic brain injury, the nervous system can become dysregulated—swinging between overwhelm and collapse, or becoming easily overstimulated. SE works gently with the body’s physiology, not just its psychology. It allows the system to slow down, build capacity, and process stress without triggering more symptoms. SE complements cognitive rehab, occupational therapy, and/or mindfulness practices. It offers a profound felt sense of safety and agency in the body.
Do I have to share my trauma story?
No. You are never required to share details of your trauma. The work happens through the body—and we trust what emerges.
What happens in a session?
We start with a check-in, then follow your body’s cues—like breath, sensations, or movement. Sessions are quiet, collaborative, and grounded in safety.
Do you offer both in person and virtual sessions?
Both. You can meet with me at our sanctuary in Tucson or work together via Zoom. Some do combination. We’ll choose what feels best for you.
How many sessions do I need?
That depends on what you're bringing in, your goals, and the pace of your nervous system. Some people come for a few sessions to work through a specific issue or life transition. Others engage in longer-term support as part of their ongoing integration and healing process. There’s no “right” number. You’re always in choice, and we revisit your intentions together as we go.
