Reiki Healing Session
Each Reiki session at Congruence is a quiet invitation back to yourself. Whether you're carrying the weight of stress, recovering from trauma or TBI, or simply craving stillness, Reiki meets you where you are — without pressure, agenda, or expectation.
Reiki works gently with the nervous system, helping to shift the body out of states of hypervigilance or shutdown and into a more balanced, regulated state. As the energy flows, breath deepens, tension softens, and awareness slowly returns to the present moment. There is no need to force or fix — the energy simply meets you where you are and supports what is ready to shift.
Reiki Healing is done fully clothed, lying on a massage table, with light touch or no touch at all depending on your preference. You may feel warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or simply a sense of peace. Some people drift into sleep; others experience clarity or gentle emotional release. Every session is unique.
Sessions are held in the casita during the warmer months, providing a cool and restful indoor setting. When the weather is cooler, sessions may take place in a screened-in porch just steps from the herd. While you won’t be inside the horses’ space, their presence is always part of the experience — subtle, steady, and deeply regulating.
Our one on one sessions are available in person only. They are 60 minutes in duration and offered on a sliding scale of $90–$125. Although we are NOT a non profit, each session directly supports the care and well-being of the sanctuary.
If you feel called to explore this work, I invite you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation or reach out by email to learn more or book a session.
Reiki & Nervous System Regulation
Reiki is a gentle Japanese healing practice that supports the body’s natural ability to return to balance. First developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s, Reiki was created to address not just physical discomfort, but the emotional and energetic imprints that so often lie beneath it. It later came to the West through Hawayo Takata, who helped bring Reiki to broader audiences across the world.
At Congruence, Reiki is part of a larger conversation about presence and nervous system regulation. Through light or no-touch energy work, the body is gently invited out of vigilance and into safety. Breath deepens, tension softens, and awareness slowly returns to the present moment. There is no need to force or fix — the energy simply meets you where you are and supports what is ready to shift.
This practice is especially supportive for those healing from trauma, recovering from chronic stress, navigating the effects of a traumatic brain injury (TBI), or seeking a deeper connection with themselves. It helps restore the body’s natural rhythm, creating the conditions for self-regulation and coherence to emerge organically.
At Congruence, Reiki is not a technique applied to you — it is a shared space of co-regulation. A quiet return to wholeness. A remembering of the body’s innate wisdom.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only work with people who have a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury)?
No. While Peggy has lived experience with TBI and welcomes those on that path, Reiki sessions are open to anyone seeking nervous system support, trauma healing, or quiet reconnection.
What is Holy Fire® Reiki?
Holy Fire® Reiki is a newer form of Reiki that carries a refined, deeply peaceful energy. Introduced by William Lee Rand in 2014, it builds on the foundation of traditional Usui Reiki while offering a more direct connection to the source of the healing energy.
Unlike traditional Reiki attunements passed from teacher to student, Holy Fire® is received through guided meditation — a process called an “ignition.” This allows the energy to come directly from the source, rather than through the practitioner’s own field. Many people experience Holy Fire® as steady, loving, and intelligent — working gently but deeply, even without needing to revisit old stories or pain.
Peggy is trained in both Usui and Holy Fire® Reiki, and allows the energy to guide the session. It meets each person where they are, supporting what the system is ready to release or integrate.
Will I be with the horses during the session?
Not directly. Sessions are indoors in summer and on a screened porch near the herd in cooler months. The horses are always part of the field, even from a distance.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes. You’ll remain fully clothed, lying on a massage table, with optional light touch or no touch at all.
Do I need to do anything to prepare?
No. Just arrive as you are. You may wish to avoid heavy meals or stimulants beforehand.
How will I feel afterward?
Most people feel calm, clear, grounded, or quietly energized. Some feel emotional release or a need for rest. Effects can continue to unfold over days.
Can Reiki help with anxiety or chronic stress?
Yes. Reiki works gently with the nervous system and can help reduce overwhelm, shift patterns of hypervigilance, and support regulation over time.
How is this different from talk therapy?
Reiki doesn’t rely on storytelling or analysis. It works through the body and energy field, often reaching places words cannot.
Is this a spiritual practice?
Reiki is not tied to any religion or belief system. It simply invites your system back into balance, clarity, and connection.
How do I book?
If you feel called to explore this work, I invite you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation or reach out by email to learn more or book a session.
Can I combine Reiki with other healing modalities?
Yes. Reiki complements many approaches including somatic experiencing, therapy, acupuncture, bodywork, and medical care. It supports integration without interference.
How often should I come?
Some clients come regularly, others as needed. You’re welcome to begin with a single session and feel into the rhythm that best supports your system.
